KOALA CLUB
ABOUT US
Crows Nest Koala Club has two main purposes:
-
To provide individuals with autism with opportunities to get in touch with nature.
-
To improve our native environment and benefit koalas.
How are those things even related? Green space is good for mental health. So is providing for animals. We have established a clear goal to revitalise land and regenerate native vegetation, particularly for koalas. This brings the two ideas together and sets a clear focus for our activities.
Koala Club Inc. has been established as a charity to:
-
Prevent or relieve the suffering of koalas
-
Regenerating eucalyptus vegetation adjacent to critical habitat areas
-
Providing safe habitat areas for koalas and protection from predators
-
-
Advancing the natural environment
-
Stopping grazing of grassland or previously pastured areas
-
Revegetating those areas through natural and assisted regeneration of native vegetation
-
-
Advancing social or public welfare
-
Providing a safe and stress-free environment for people with autism
-
Caring for and supporting individuals with autism, particularly children as they approach teenage years
-
Encouraging children to observe and nurture animals and our natural environment
-
Founded in 2023, we are committed to helping people with autism aged 8-16 to provide for koalas by enhancing natural environments adjacent to mapped koala habitats in a stress-free, sensory aware setting.
Our Services

1
Prevent or relieve the suffering of koalas
Koalas are one of the most beloved animals in Australia. We prevent or relieve the suffering of these iconic animals by supporting conservation efforts and reducing our carbon footprint. This provides a wonderful environment for our resident koala populations and provides a positive future for koala generations to come.
2
Advancing the natural environment
The enhancement of the natural environment is important to our mission because it gives children a purpose for engaging in nature-based theraphy, without even knowing it. By creating a healthier environment for our koalas, our koala helpers are actually helping themselves.
3
Advancing social or public welfare
Advancing social or public welfare for children with autism is a crucial mission that requires attention and dedication. We think we're making a difference in the lives of these children and their families. We have created an inclusive and supportive setting to advance social and public welfare for people aged 8-16 with autism.
